A Cause for Celebration provides birthday parties for children whose parents cannot.

Hunter Armistead Fund to Inspire Joy and Laughter supports such things as laughter classes for those confronting cancer and programs that help people remember their zest for living amidst the struggles of life.

The Crittenton Fund provides funding support for pregnant and parenting teens.

Genesco, Helping People Get Back on Their Feet Fund offers a hand up to people overcoming homelessness, illness, joblessness or violence.

Helping Children Heal:  A Fund for the Healing Arts helps sick children take part in a wide range of healing including massage, arts and crafts, music and play therapy.

Carroll Hines fund for Medical Needs of Children addresses the health and medical needs of children.

The Hope Fund supports programs promoting women's recovery from addiction and assisting the children who love them.

McWherter fund for Basic Human Needs meets basic needs - food, shelter and clothing - of our neighbors in need.

Nacarato Family Fund benefits underprivileged, poor and needy children and their families.

Nashville Beta Sigma Phi Fund lifts up gifted young women seeking to express themselves through the performing and/or fine arts.

Margaret and Victor Nielsen Fund supports summer camping programs benefiting underprivileged children.

The Shepherd's Center fund for Seniors serves senior adults throughout Middle Tennessee.

Edna S. Thomas fund fosters commitment to raising healthy children and giving parents the tools to succeed.

Lorene White Organ Transplantation Fund encourages organ donation and transplantation.

 

2006 DISCRETIONARY GRANT RECIPIENTS

Actors Bridge Ensemble - To host a summer writing and performance camp for teen girls.

Community Helpers of Rutherford County - To provide clients with emergency assistance for dental extractions or fillings.

Friends in General - To provide free mammogram screenings for women over 40.

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc. - To provide transportation vouchers for individuals who are actively involved in job seeking.

Interfaith Dental Clinic - To provide emergency dental care to relieve urgent pain and infection in 400 individuals.

League for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - To open a satellite office in Murfreesboro.

People for Animals - To provide financial assistance for low income families seeking spay/neuter services for their pets.

Prevent Blindness Tennessee - To provide seniors with services including vision screenings, eye exams, eyeglasses and referrals.

Tennessee Poison Center - To distribute a poison awareness video program to 279 Head Start classrooms in Middle Tennessee
