FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dear Friends,
It is that time of year again. As many of you know, for many
years I have worked with the THEA (Tennessee Home Education
Association) Speech and Debate team as they compete at the
Christian Communicators for Christ Tournament. This year is no
exception and once again I would like to invite you to volunteer
as a judge at the tournament.
No experience, dont worry we will provide guidance prior to the
judging time.
I can promise you that this will be a true highlight in your
personal and professional life. These kids are amazing.
Following are the details on this event as well as the response
form. Please feel free to contact my office as well (741-2804;
253-0322 Fax).
Sincerely,
Donna Rowland
State Representative
34th Legislative District
We would like to extend an offer to you to volunteer as a judge
at the Christian Communicators of Tennessee Speech and Debate
Tournament to be held at Middle Tennessee State University in
Murfreesboro, TN on December 15 16, 2006.
Approximately 100 participants and their families will travel
from across the southeast to participate in this prestigious
event. People with many different talents are needed to judge
the individual speaking events, Public Forum Debate, and Student
Congress Debate. Over 250 judging slots need to be filled,
which will require between 75100 individuals. Will you help
us? A short orientation will be given prior to each event
to give you the information you need to be a judge for the
event.
Please review the enclosed schedule and select a time that is
convenient for you. If you can commit to judging, recruiting
judges, or any other related activity please e-mail your name,
e-mail address, and available time blocks to
cedavis@bellsouth.net or
melissa@clarkiron.com or return the enclosed form to the
address listed. If you would like additional information please
contact Cheryl Davis at (615) 542-5987 or Melissa Clark at (615)
273-2288.
Additional comments from other judges:
Their ability to articulate their debate arguments and their
creativity in the different competitions was outstanding. I
would certainly recommend to others that it is an uplifting
experience and well worth investing several hours of a day to
serve as a judge.
John M Rankin, Attorney
It was a well-spent day out of my schedule and I was most
grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to be involved
with such a fine organization.
Dave Briley, Associate Pastor
