FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dear Friends:
During peak months of the year, it is especially crucial for
companies and industrial plants to utilize every possible tool
to save energy, money and help prevent power disturbances. The
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is recommending a number of
methods to help counteract equipment inefficiency and
sensitivity that can lead to wasted energy, environmental
pollution, unnecessary downtime and eventual loss in revenue.
The Comprehensive Services Program (CSP) offered by TVA and its
local power distributors provide engineering services for
companies including state-of-the-art power monitoring,
ultrasound and infrared technology – at no cost or low
cost to the customer.
The services now include:
-
Detection of costly compressed air leaks
-
Using thermal imaging technology to prevent damage to
equipment through identifying faulty components
-
Identifying potential power system conditions that can
affect sensitive equipment
The U.S. Department of Energy has also introduced a new software
tool called Quick PEP, designed to help managers evaluate how
their plants are utilizing energy as a first step to identify
long-term savings and reduce environmental emissions. The
software can be obtained through DOE’s website at
www.eere.energy.gov/industry/bestpractices.
For more information on TVA’s Comprehensive Services Program,
visit
www.tva.org or call your local power company.
Sincerely,
Donna Rowland
State Representative
