Ethics Reform Act 2006

Dear Friends:

Welcome to my website through which I wish to give you a personal introduction to me and my family and my service to date in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Since my election in 2000, I have earned the reputation as a fiscal and socially conservative Republican. I campaigned and voted against a proposed state income tax because I felt it placed too large of a burden on middle income taxpayers. I have demonstrated my commitment to protecting the unborn, fought to keep our right to bear arms and supported issues that allow both individuals and businesses to grow and prosper in Tennessee with minimum government intervention.

If some or all of these issues are important to you then I urge you to join with me by supporting my re-election to the State House. Tennessee is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, start a business or to retire. I need your support during this campaign and I hope you will choose to become involved in our campaign.

This year, I am pleased to offer to you my support of "Tennessee Trust".


 

TENNESSEE TRUST

A Commitment to the Citizens of Tennessee

As our Republican Representatives to state government, and those seeking to join this body, we pledge this "Trust" to the citizens of Tennessee.

We will support strong laws against illegal immigration that will help take back our streets including legislation that will:

1.   Require proof of citizenship to vote.

2.   Require legal documents to get a driver's license.

3.   Require the Tennessee Highway Patrol to form a division to assist federal officials in detaining illegals who are breaking our laws.

4.   Require driver's license tests to be taken in English.

5.   Require proof of citizenship before receiving certain public assistance or social service benefits.

6.  Return over-collected taxes to the people by cutting the sales tax on food.

7.  Control spending by strengthening a constitutional cap on the state budget.

8.  Oppose a state income tax.

9.  Propose initiatives to streamline the legislative process.

10.  Support and fund education first.

11.  Strengthen and protect our families.

12.  Promote access to affordable, quality healthcare.

13.  Encourage job development.

14.  Uphold our common Tennessee values.
